Motivating Staff Who Don't Care Posted: 31 Jan 2012 10:37 AM PST Funny thing, just like our counterparts in the for profit world, non-profits have unmotivated staff too. A lack of staff motivation is the biggest waste of money at a non-profit and you cant afford it any longer. What to do is a major staff challenge. There is no easy answer but it all starts with a network of supervisory behavior. |

The internet is full of advice for job seekers. You, as an interviewer are at a distinct disadvantage. No one ever taught you how to interview and most likely your organization does not have a standardized hiring process that you can follow. Most interviewers try to "follow their gut". The result: we know more about the performance characteristic of a new copier than we do about a new staff member. |

Most of us are inundated by invitations, by a number of organizations, to a variety of functions, including sports events (usually golf or tennis tournaments), casino nights, cabarets, auctions, galas, fetes, etc. However, to truly make an event special, one needs to look at the word event letter by letter, and analyzing all the various components. |
